A RAID for any case

The use of two hard as a RAID array is popular and well spread thanks to many advantages. But whoever wants to take this advantage, often can not do it due to the fact that not every motherboard is equipped with a RAID controller and laptops usually fall per-se outside the scope of possibilities. That is where the ICY BOX IB-RD3621U3 comes to help and converts two 3.5" SATA hard disks effectively to a high-performance RAID array. The exchange of HDDs is made easy thanks to EasySwap.

The given choices are Single, RAID 0, LARGE and RAID 1. So either higher speed data transmission, data mirroring for more reliability, a detection of the HDDs as individual drives or both HDDs are displayed as one huge drive. RAID 0 is particularly interesting, fueled by the modern USB 3.0 port - here the transfer rates reach up to 5 Gb per second. The hard disks are honored with a longer life span due to the lower operating temperatures because a 6 cm fan is actively assuring enough cool air.

Two hard disks in the form factor 3.5" fit into this RAID enclosure. Available RAID modes are single, RAID 0, 1 and LARGE. So that this candidate is beautifully versatile and is prepared for any situation.

The IB-RD3621U3 is made of light plastic. Since raiding is very heavy on the HDDs a lot of heat is produces, the fan on the back of the enclosure is capable of cooling the HDDs very well.

Energy effecient

Thanks to the On/Off switch, the IB-RD3621U3 is a true energy saver. What is likewise well controlled are rapid data transfer via USB 3.0 connection. If desired, the hard disks are very easy to replace thanks to HotSwap and plug & play.
