Doch heute zum Glück schon! Alles was man braucht
Mithilfe des DisplayPort™ 1.2 Anschlusses als Input-Schnittstelle kann man zum Beispiel einen Laptop oder einen Desktop-PC als Quelle für die Filmdatei nutzen (oder mit bekannten Video-on-Demand Programmen im Internet)- vorausgesetzt, das Gerät hat einen solchen DisplayPort™ Anschluss.

Und auf der anderen Seite...
benötigt man einen HDMI® Anschluss. Das bedeutet, wenn man einen Fernseher mit einem solchen Anschluss besitzt, kann man seine Videos/Bilder/… schon mit bis zu 3840x2160 pixel Auflösung bei 30 Hz Bildwiederholrate genießen.
